At See the Strengths, we are dedicated to empowering children, adolescents, and young adults through evidence-based psychological services. Our goal is to discover and build on each person’s unique strengths. Our services are designed to foster resilience and promote lasting growth that extends beyond the therapy office.
Hi, I am Dr. Arielle Skoryk!
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my practice. I am a licensed psychologist in New Jersey (#35SI00621200) and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.
With over a decade of experience, I have made significant contributions in various school and clinical settings, expertly developing and implementing therapeutic programs that have positively impacted numerous children and adolescents facing behavioral and emotional challenges. I am specially trained to respond to behavioral and mental health crises, and have held a leadership role in an urban public school district in New Jersey, where I led the implementation of an innovative Multi-Tiered System of Supports program. Additionally, I have several years of experience as a part-time lecturer at Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology.
As the founder of See the Strengths LLC, a small private practice in NJ, I utilize a unique, evidence-based approach to empower children and young adults. My work is driven by a deep belief in the transformative power of targeted support and a compassionate understanding of the challenges young people face.
I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Scranton, and later earned both my Master’s and Doctorate in Psychology from Rutgers University. I have been honored to receive the Robert Weitz Award and the Virginia Bennett Award for excellence in my field.
On a personal note, I am the proud mother of two beautiful children and have a deep love for the outdoors and all things nature.
Through years of experience working with children, families & educators I have developed a core set of principles that guide my practice…
It is important to build upon strengths
Symptom reduction is important, but I find that it tends to occur naturally when people recognize their own strengths and abilities. I focus on building upon the good that already exists.
People learn best from those they trust and respect
I strive to build an authentic and meaningful connection with each person that I work with. I also work collaboratively with the important adults in a child’s life.
Best practices deliver best results
The implementation of evidence-based therapeutic interventions is necessary to achieve optimal results. I integrate best practice treatments/approaches (CBT, Play Therapy, Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed) to meet the unique needs of each person.
Comfortable, convenient & customized
We know that one size doesn’t fit all when it comes to therapy. That’s why we offer three convenient location options to ensure you and/or your child feel comfortable and supported. Whether you prefer the structure of a traditional office setting, the calming benefits of nature-based therapy, or a flexible alternative, you have the freedom to choose—or even explore different options to find the best fit. We also know life gets busy, so we offer convenient after-school and weekend sessions to make getting support even easier!
Office-Based Therapy
See the Strengths offers a convenient location with ample parking and two thoughtfully designed office spaces, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for children through young adults. In our offices, we provide evidence-based psychological services tailored to meet your unique needs.
Nature-Based Therapy
Are you or your child spending too much time inside & in front of a screen? We believe a safe, supportive therapy environment extends beyond four walls. A growing body of research supports ecopsychology and the positive benefits of connecting with nature. Therefore, we offer evidence-based psychological services outside, using nature as a powerful tool to enhance the therapeutic process. Learn more
Virtual Therapy

Support beyond therapy
We understand that when a child struggles, the adults around them do too. That’s why we offer consultation, training, and support for parents and educators—because it truly takes a village. Let’s work together to create a stronger, more supportive environment for your child’s growth.
Parent Consultation
Do you feel like you’ve tried everything and your child is still presenting with challenging emotions or behavior? You're not alone. I am an “out-of-network provider” which means I do not participate in insurance plans and I have opted out of Medicare. If you are feeling overwhelmed by these prices, the following options may help to reduce the cost…
Submit for Insurance Reimbursement
Check your plan by contacting your insurance company to find out if you have out-of-network benefits. PPO insurance often covers a portion for out-of-network providers and so do some other plans. I can provide you with a receipt that will include all of the information your insurance company will require for you to submit for reimbursement.
Use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
These are tax-advantaged savings accounts that allow you to use pre-tax money toward your sessions, getting the full value of your dollar!
