Hi, I am Dr. Arielle Skoryk!

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my practice. I am a licensed psychologist in NJ (#35SI00621200) and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.

With over a decade of experience, I have made significant contributions in various school and clinical settings, expertly developing and implementing therapeutic programs that have positively impacted numerous children and adolescents facing behavioral and emotional challenges. I have specialized training in responding to behavioral and mental health crises. Currently, I serve in a leadership role in an urban public school district in New Jersey where I oversee the implementation of a groundbreaking Multi-Tiered System of Supports program. I also have several years of experience as a part-time lecturer at Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. As the founder of See the Strengths LLC, a small private practice in NJ, I apply a unique, evidence-based approach to empower youth. My commitment to this field is fueled by a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of targeted support and understanding in young lives.

I graduated summa cum laude with my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from The University of Scranton and then went on to earn my Masters and Doctorate in Psychology from Rutgers University. I was the recipient of the prestigious Robert Weitz Award & Virginia Bennett Award.

Through years of experience working with children, families & educators I have developed a core set of principles that guide my practice…

There is no such thing as a “bad kid”

I am committed to seeing and understanding the unique strengths & abilities in each child.

Children learn best from adults who they trust & respect

I strive to build an authentic and meaningful connection with each child that I work with. I also work collaboratively with the important adults in that child’s life.

It is important to build upon strengths

Symptom reduction is important, but I find that it tends to occur naturally when children recognize their own strengths and abilities. I focus on building upon the good that already exists.

Nature will enhance children’s lives

A safe and comfortable therapeutic environment can be achieved in nature. Children spend too much time indoors and nature is an incredibly powerful tool that enhances the therapeutic process.

Best practices deliver best results

The implementation of evidence-based therapeutic interventions is necessary to achieve optimal results. I integrate best practice treatments/approaches (CBT, Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed) to meet the unique needs of each child.

All services conducted during after-school and weekend hours

Due to limited availability, I carefully select clients based on the child’s needs and my areas of specialization. I require a 90-minute intake appointment with all prospective clients to establish rapport and assure good fit. Please feel free to contact me for a free phone consultation if you have any questions.

Submit for Insurance Reimbursement

Check your plan by contacting your insurance company to find out if you have out-of-network benefits. PPO insurance often covers a portion for out-of-network providers and so do some other plans. I can provide you with a receipt that will include all of the information your insurance company will require for you to submit for reimbursement.
